Asuransi Jasindo launches "Jasindo Mudik" protection

PT. Asuransi Jasa Indonesia has introduced Jasindo Mudik product for the people
who wish to celebrate Idul Fitri in their hometown. With this product Jasindo
expects to get 200,000 - 400,000 travelers, or 1 - 2 billion premium income.
PT. Asuransi Jasa Indonesia has brought out Jasindo Mudik product for the people
who travel to their hometown to celebrate Idul Fitri. Jasindo expects 200,000 -
400,000 travelers to buy this product, who will contribute Rp. 4 billion to Rp.
2 billion in premium to the company.
The insurance policy can be obtained by buying "Jasindo Mudik" coupon which is
easily accessible at bus terminals, train stations, airports, plazas, or by
phone calls. 200,000 coupons have been issued for the first batch.
Zulchaibar, head of Jasindo Specialized Marketing Division gave a few main
reasons for Jasindo to introduce this insurance. First, to extend the retail
segment; second, to educate the people at large to become insurance minded, so
for this purpose Jasindo is not aiming at a high premium income.
So far, the composition stands at 80 % corporate and 20 % retail and individual
segments, he explained to Investor Daily sometime ago. The target set by Jasindo
was based on the data of the number of travelers quoted last year, totaling 18
million people, nationally, 8 million of which came from Jakarta. So, the target
set by Jasindo was relatively small, being only 5 % of travelers from Jakarta,
and 2.2 % out of the national scale.
So Zulchaibar feels he has every reason to be optimistic to be able to sell
200,000 coupons, not to mention the premium is only Rp. 5000, thus he hopes this
will be appealing to mid to lower levels of society.
