Asuransi Jasindo pays Adam Air claims

The heirs of five out of 102 passengers on board Adam Air KI 574 which on 1
January 2007 fell off and disappeared in Majene, West Sulawesi waters, wept with
tears the moment Herman Moenir, Asuransi Jasindo Retail Operations Director,
witnessed by Freddy Harry Sualang, North Sulawesi Vice Governor, handed in Rp.
250,000,000 claims payment to the family of the late Benny Lendo, and Rp.
100,000,000 to each of the families of : the late Bram Tangalu, the late Flonia
Assa, the late Hans Rumenjan, and the late Sintje Kalalo.
The event took place on 5th March 2007 in Quality Hotel Manado. Just moments
before taking off, Benny Lando had bought Asuransi Pelangi voluntary insurance
coupon for Rp. 25,000 while Bram Tangaku, Flonia Assa, Hans Rumenjan and Sintje
Kalalo, each bought a Rp. 10,000 coupon. This later turned out to be a token of
love and care for their families.
Freddy Harry Sualang, North Sulawesi Vice Governor expressed his condolences to
the bereaved families and asked them to submit to and seek solace in God
Almighty. He also extended thanks to PT. Asuransi Jasa Indonesia, Manado Branch
for their care and attention to the families of the Adam Air victims, and wished
Asuransi Jasindo every success, hoping that Asuransi Jasindo will continue to be
professional in giving services.
On the occasion, Herman Moenir, Asuransi Jasindo’s Retail Operation Director
expressed his deepest condolences to the bereaved families for their sufferings
brought about by Adam Air tragedy, and said that although the claims payment
would never be able to replace their loss for their loved ones, it could
hopefully help the bereaved families in a small way, at least as a token of
consolation and moral support to them.
Herman explained that Asuransi Pelangi is a voluntary insurance product that
provides protection during the flight, starting from the moment the insured
arrives at the departure hall, during their flight, and ends when they reach the
arrival terminal of the destination country. Asuransi Pelangi provides coverage
for risks which are brought about by an accident, such as death, partial or
total permanent disablement, and all necessary cost deriving from such incident,
as stated in the insurance policy.
In return to the trust the insured has placed on Asuransi Jasindo, the Company
proactively comes to the inheritors to pay the claims. This is to assure the
people that an insurance company should not go after premiums only, but they

operations.
The families of all the bereaved families expressed their most sincere gratitude
to Asuransi Jasindo for the claims payment despite the fact that they had not
been aware of the existence of the insurance coupons until they were approached
and informed by Asuransi Jasindo. This proves that Asuransi Jasindo is truly a
trusted and accountable insurance company, and Asuransi Pelangi coupons is
indeed a symbol of love and care for a family. The Company should then
communicate voluntary Pelangi coupons more widely, just in case an accident
occurs beyond anyone’s expectation.
